Miami isn’t a place you’d expect to find people dressed in dirndls and lederhosen, but I wouldn’t be surprised to spot a few during Oktoberfest.
This year, Brickell is celebrating the German beer festival with a preview party at (and of) Central Park Miami, October 6-8. You see, what used to be an empty lot on South Miami Ave has been turned into a new park and mixed-use space called Central Park, and Oktoberfest is going to give you a taste of it — literally.
Brickell Bier Garden will set up shop here with hard-to-find German microbrews and a menu that includes cider-glazed pork ribs and warm pretzels served with bock beer mustard. At Central Park’s 10,000-square-foot open space, bands and DJs will host daily parties like “Dance-toberfest” and “Rockin’-toberfest.”
Or, you could head to Miami Beach, to a truly under-the-radar place: Lou’s Beer Garden. You’ll find a lot of foodies and food industry people relaxing here, enjoying craft beer and a gastropub menu like no other. Oxtail-stuffed roasted bone marrow, anyone?
